Bio

Jason Rayner is a sophomore at Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. He is majoring in animation but also enjoys design and illustration.

I wanted to be an animator ever since I saw the bonus features of Monsters, Inc. I knew I could draw and had a love for characters, but that was the first time I saw it all coming together in one occupation. Since then I've been set on a creative career.

I started dabbling in all sorts of artistic things. Cartoons and comic strips were my first pursuit. I kept a sketchbook and later drew a comic strip for my school's weekly memo, titled "Kids These Days." After a woman at church handed me a CD with "Blender 2.14" written on it, I began to play around with 3D modeling and computer graphics. I tried my hand making games and modeling whatever came to my head. Through the years I added to my interests web design and poster design (or anything remotely related to art that my school needed). Classical Academic Press has given me the wonderful opportunity of working with their creative, forward-thinking production crew as an Intern for a few years now. I've built up my little portfolio and am into my second year of college at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).

Right now I'm working on rekindling my love for reading and sketchbooks that I had so much of as a child. I hope in the near future to use my skills to craft stories that inspire creativity and a love of beauty.
